German Letter Review · USD 300

Got a letter from Germany? Find out what it means — and what to do next.

A German attorney reads your documents and explains them to you in plain English. Some German letters start deadlines as short as six weeks — you don’t need to guess, and you don’t need to hire a lawyer for the full case just to find out what’s going on.

Typical letters we review

Who wrote to you?

German probate court

A letter from the Nachlassgericht informing you that you may be an heir — or a copy of a will with the opening record.

Disclaim or accept?

A request to disclaim or accept an inheritance, often with a deadline.

Tax office or bank

A letter or questionnaire from a German Finanzamt, or a bank writing about a deceased person’s account.

Notary or administrator

Letters from a notary, a court-appointed estate administrator or other heirs.

Heir hunter

An offer asking you to sign a contract and pay a share of your inheritance. Please don’t sign before you know what it costs you.

Anything else in German

Not sure who wrote to you or why? That’s exactly what the review is for.

What you get

You leave the call knowing where you stand.

  • A German attorney who has read your documents before the call
  • A plain-English explanation of what the letter says and why you received it
  • A check whether a deadline is running and when it ends
  • Your options and the concrete next steps
  • A clear answer whether you can handle it yourself or need help — and what that would cost
Is a deadline running?

Book the earliest available slot.

Many German inheritance deadlines are six weeks, or six months if you live outside Germany. If your letter mentions a deadline, please book the earliest slot and tell us in your email — we prioritize these calls.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to send original documents?

No. Scans or clear phone photos are enough. Please keep your originals safe — you may need them later.

What if the letter is only in German?

That’s the point of this call. We read the German original and explain it to you in English.

Does this call make you my attorney?

The call is legal advice on the documents you provide. Representation beyond the call, for example contact with the court or the bank, begins only once you engage us separately.

Can I get a refund?

You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before the call and receive a full refund. You can reschedule at any time up to 72 hours before the call.

Just want to know if we’re the right fit?

Our free 15-minute call is for a first orientation. We don’t review documents in that call. Schedule your free call
